I have been looking for ages for a song about a boy being afraid of the thunder and running to his mom's room down the hall.  I can't really remember anything else but the whole song could be about a boy growing up and always loving his mom.

Billy Dean's "It's Only the Wind" is what comes to mind.  It was released around 1991 - 1993.  I've included the lyrics, so if this isn't what you're looking for, write me back, and I'll keep looking!
