I keep hearing it on a station locally that plays a huge variety of coutnry music, It has the lyrics hey little baby.... and a chorus about something with a guitar man in it, its not jerry reed its puzzling me and cant find the answer

The only song that comes to mind is Steve Earle's "Guitar Town."  It starts off with "Hey pretty baby..." and says "guitar town" instead of "guitar man" in the middle...  If this isn't the song you're looking for, just let me know, and I'll keep looking!  Hope this helps!
