Question
"I missed you how i missed me at your house last night" That"s all i have for lyrics, can you tell me the name and singer of this country song? Thanks.

Answer
Hello Mike,

Oh yes, I know that one well. I remember playing it over and over again as a lovestruck fifteen-year-old after a girlfriend had dumped me. It's called "I Missed Me" and it was a hit for Jim Reeves in 1960.

It was written by Bill Anderson, who made a recording of it in 1965, and there was a much later recording by Daniel O'Donnell.

Last night was the worst night of my life no doubt
'Cause while I stayed at home, someone else took you out
I cried 'cause I loved you with all of my might
And I missed me, how I missed me at your house last night

I missed holding hands, walking out on your lawn
I missed the sweet kiss that was mine for so long
Were you happy with new arms wrapped around you so tight
Did you miss me, like I missed me at your house last night

Did the neighbours say they noticed anything strange
Like a diff'rent car parked in your drive for a change
Did they watch as he kissed you beneath the porch light
And did they miss me like I missed me at your house last night

I missed holding hands, walking out on your lawn
I missed the sweet kiss that was mine for so long
Were you happy with new arms wrapped around you so tight
Did you miss me, like I missed me at your house last night

Glad to be of help. Cheers........Mel.

Expertise

I have been hooked on Country music since first hearing Jim Reeves in the late 50s. Two of the greatest nights of my life were seeing The Mavericks and Reba McEntire live in London. I am more at home with traditional Country music, but am happy to try and help with any questions relating to songs up to 2000. Please note that I DO NOT have the same knowledge about country music videos or singers private lives.

Ex-record merchandiser with an extensive personal record/cd collection containing everything from Jim Reeves to Dwight Yoakam.
