i found it you were really close to getting right its located at http://dishmag.com/issue93/music-film/9678/tin-pan-south-shines-spotlight-on-son its called ill wait for you by joe nichols it has a message being left for the husband from the wife who died that says ill wait for you but i didnt find anything while searching the internet that was as close to this song.

"Blue Collar Night" is a good one, but I think you're talking about another, more recent one. It's Jason Michael Carroll, "Hurry Home." It's about a Dad who sings a message of forgiveness on his answering machine, just in case his daughter calls.

I can answer just about any question about lyrics or the artists who recorded the songs--80s and 90s country especially. I don't watch many new videos, but the older the video question, the more likely I am to be able to answer it.

Experience

I've been a country music fan for all of my 20+ years! I somehow have a knack for being able to remember all the words to all the songs (and who sang them for the most part) even though I can't carry a tune to save my life!
