About Beth Burgess
Expertise
I can answer just about any question about lyrics or the artists who recorded the songs--80s and 90s country especially. I don't watch many new videos, but the older the video question, the more likely I am to be able to answer it.

Experience
I've been a country music fan for all of my 25 years! I somehow have a knack for being able to remember all the words to all the songs (and who sang them for the most part) even though I can't carry a tune to save my life!

Education/Credentials
I'm currently enrolled in law school (so if I can't remember an answer off the top of my head, I have excellent research skills!)

Country Music - song from the 90's

Expert: Beth Burgess - 6/28/2009

Question
About 1994, a song came out sung by a woman singer.  The opening words are something to this effect....
"waving goodbye to my best friend thru the back window of our station wagon...."  The last part of the song has something about her mother is dying and she is by the bed a nd her mother is telling her it is time to go now.  Can you help me find the name of the song and the singer?  Thanks!

Answer
Hi Louise!  The song you're looking for is Patty Loveless' "How Can I Help You To Say Goodbye," which was released in 1994 off her "Only What I Feel" album.  Here's a link to the video:

Hope this helps!
