About Beth Burgess
Expertise
I can answer just about any question about lyrics or the artists who recorded the songs--80s and 90s country especially. I don't watch many new videos, but the older the video question, the more likely I am to be able to answer it.

Experience
I've been a country music fan for all of my 25 years! I somehow have a knack for being able to remember all the words to all the songs (and who sang them for the most part) even though I can't carry a tune to save my life!

Education/Credentials
I'm currently enrolled in law school (so if I can't remember an answer off the top of my head, I have excellent research skills!)

Country Music - song and artist

Expert: Beth Burgess - 6/24/2009

Question
I know this going to be difficult for you to answer, but I have to try. I don't know the singer or the title, but the song is about a mother who wants to leave something behind for the world to remember her by and she comes to say that her kids were her legacy she was leaving behind. Hope you can answer my question.

Answer
Hi Carole!  The song that immediately comes to mind is LeeAnn Womack's song, "Something Worth Leaving Behind."  Hope this helps!

Artist: Lee Ann Womack
Song: Something Worth Leaving Behind
Album: Something Worth Leaving Behind

Hey Mona Lisa, who was Leonardo?
Was he Andy Warhol?
You were Marilyn Monroe
Hey Mozart, what kind of name is Amadeus
Itīs kinda like Elvis
You gotta die to be famous
I may not go down in history
I just want someone to remember me

Iīll probably never hold a brush
that paints a masterpeice
Probably never find a pen
that writes a symphony
But if I will love then I will find
That I have touched another life
And thatīs something
Something worth leaving behind

Hey Midas you say you have the magic touch
That even all that shiny stuff
Someday is gonna turn to dust
Hey Jesus it must have been some Sunday morning
In a blaze of glory
Weīre still tellinī your story
I may not go down in history
I just want someone to remember me

Iīll probably never dream a dream
and watch it turn to gold
No, Iīll never lose my life
to save another soul
If I will love then I will find
That I have touched another life
And thatīs something
Something worth leaving behind

Hey baby see the future that weīre building
Our love lives on in the lives of our children
And thatīs something
Something worth leaving behind
