Country Music/song from the 90's

Question
what was the song recorded in the mid 90's about a man cheating on his wife, part of the lyrics are "if god can forgive me why can't you?"  I know it was recorded by a group. I thought it was Restless Heart, but can't find it.

Hi Tracey!  I couldn't find this song by a group, but I did find a song that was recorded by David Houston called "If God Can Forgive Me (Why Can't You)," which was recorded in 1970 on his "Wonders of the Wine" album.  It may have been recorded by another artist in the '90s, but I haven't been able to find out who!  Hope this helps!
