ok.. I have this song in mind.. but I was pretty sure it was a female that sang this song... but when searching for the song only found male singers... only remember some lyrics...

Hi Mary!  The song that immediately comes to mind is Trent Willmon's "On Again Tonight."  I've never heard it recorded by a female artist, nor could I find it anywhere...  But honestly, no matter who sings this song, it's great!  I've included the lyrics and a link to the video on CMT's website.  Hope this helps!
