Question
Mel,
Occasionally hear this song but can't place the title or artist:

When it's all said and done, I will be the one to hold her tight. Oh let that little girl dance, dance, dance, let that little girl dance.
Oh, let that little girl shine shine shine, in fact when the night is done that little girl will be mine mine mine
Don't think I won't get to it, I have plans for her tonight.

2.  I think this is by the Bellamy Brothers:
What you need's a sugar daddy, diamond rings and a brand new caddy; what you need is a satin pillow with ribbons flowing down.
what you need is me to love you

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!

Answer
Hello Bill,

The first song is Eddy Raven's "Shine, Shine, Shine", a #1 Country hit in 1987..........

Go ahead with what you’re doing
You don’t have to pay me any mind
Don’t think I won’t get to it
I got plans for her tonight
You can watch her dance forever
You won’t hold her in your arms tonight
When it’s all said and done
I will be the one to hold her tight

So let her shine, shine, shine
Sit back and let that little girl shine, shine, shine
When the night is over she’ll be mine, mine, mine
Sit back and let that little girl shine

She’s like a brand new penny
Even though she never had a dime
See her sparkle see her glisten
No one holds a candle when she shines
She turns a mile a minute
See her twirl just like spinning top
But one thing that you’ll find
It’s me who’s on her mind when the music stops

So let her shine, shine, shine
Sit back and let that little girl shine, shine, shine
When the night is over she’ll be mine, mine, mine
Sit back and let that little girl shine

You can watch her dance forever
You won’t hold her in your arms tonight
When it’s all said and done
I will be the one to hold her tight

So let her shine, shine, shine
Sit back and let that little girl shine, shine, shine
When the night is over she’ll be mine, mine, mine
Sit back and let that little girl shine

Let her shine
Sit back and let that little girl shine, shine, shine
Sit back and let that little girl shine, shine, shine
When the night is over she’ll be mine, mine, mine
Sit back and let that little girl shine

The second song was indeed by the Bellamy Brothers; "Sugar Daddy" from 1980........

What you need is a sugar daddy
Diamond rings and a brand new caddy
Little things to help a girl make it  through
What you need are satin pilows
Rivers flowin' down like willows
What you need is me to love you

You are the kind of a woman
That likes to be on her own
It's simple
Those times you need a man on that, love
You like the finer things
All my money can buy
I like the way your body sings
I love the fire in your eyes

Diamond rings and a brand new caddy
Little things to help a girl make it through
What you need are satin pilows
Rivers flowin' down like willows
What you need is me to love you

We could be a secret
Our own private affair
I would give the word to you
Just so you'd know that I care
If your friends should find out
If they tried to prowl
I'll put your piedestal up so high
They wont dare to look down

What you need is a sugar daddy
Diamond rings and a brand new caddy
Little things to help a girl make it through
What you need are satin pilows
Rivers flowin' down like willows
What you need is me to love you

Glad to be of help. Cheers.........Mel.

I have been hooked on Country music since first hearing Jim Reeves in the late 50s. Two of the greatest nights of my life were seeing The Mavericks and Reba McEntire live in London. I am more at home with traditional Country music, but am happy to try and help with any questions relating to songs up to 2000. Please note that I DO NOT have the same knowledge about country music videos or singers private lives.
