Country Music/title and artist - old country song

Questiona song from the 50"s keeps running through my head. I tried to look it up on the Internet, but can't find it. The title line goes "I had your love on the tips of my fingers. But I let it slip right through my hands.'
Do you remember this song? I keep thinking it might possibly have been sung by ferlin husky, or someone from that era.
AnswerHello Phil,
That song was called "Tip Of My Fingers". It was originally a Country hit for Bill Anderson in 1960. There have been other versions by Roy Clark (1963), Eddy Arnold (1966), Jean Shepherd (1975) and Steve Wariner (1992).
I reached out my arms and I touched you
With soft words I whispered your name
I held you right on the tip of my fingers
But that was as close as I came
My eyes had a vision of sweet lips
Yielding beneath my command
I had your love on the tips of my fingers
But I let it slip right through my hands
Somebody took you when I wasn't looking
And I should have known from the start
It's a long, long way from the tip of my fingers
To the love hidden deep in your heart
I had your love on the tips of my fingers
But I let it slip right through my hands
But I let it slip right through my hands
Glad to be of help. Cheers........Mel.
