Question I cant tell if my cow is pregnate??? her belly is a little fat but she isnt acting like it....
Answer There are a couple of different ways to tell If your heifer, or cow is pregnant. You will notice her to start getting wider. Her nipples will start to swell. And you will notice her vulva swelling as well. Depending on what stage she is in. Around the last 2 months of pregnancy she will start to produce a waxy substance from the nipples. This is to ensure that the colustrum doesn't leak out. Colustrum is the first milk that the calf will receive. It contains antibodies that will help the calf in early development. This will probably seem silly, but you can by a human pregnancy test. Make sure the heifer or cow hasn't had more then a gallon of water to drink. Preferably in the morning. And that should tell you whether she is pregnant. If I were you I would try more then once to ensure accuracy. And if you are still not sure. About 3 months after becoming pregnant you can take her to a vet and get her palpated.
