Question We have a steer that anytime you tie him up he tries to bale of the fence. He is pretty spooky but will let us handle him with the halter. It is not broke to lead yet because he lunges at you when you pull on the halter. Any suggestions to break him from jumping and lunging?
Answer First we have to find the cause of why he is doing this. I need to know a bit more before I can give you an answer. How old is he? What breed? How long has he been on your property, or owned by you? How long have you been working with him? How do you go about getting the halter on him? Are there other animals, dogs, children anything around him when you are working with him that could be upsetting him?
What type of halter are you using and is him nose rung?
This will help us get started.
