Question I have a small herd of brangus heifers (7) and two of them have one month old calves. At what point should I be able to put the mother cows with my new bull. Also is 18 months to early to breed brangus heifers?
Answer Researching what you are buying before you buy it is always a good practice. That said, asking the breeder you bought your cattle from is also an option.
As per cattle 18 months is about average age for breeding. Some breeds mature sooner, some later. I breed my slow growing Longhorns at 18mths.
