Crafts/Glue Removal

Question
i have become the caretaker of many old family photos since the death of our mother.  My intention is to make family scrapbook/albums for each of my siblings and myself.  Several of the oldest photos are in old photo albums and the photos are glued to black paper.  Can you recommend any product or method to get these photos off the black paper without ruining them?  Thank you.

Answer
Unfortunately, I'm struggling with precisely the same issue, so I'm not going to be of much help here. But I do urge you to have the pictures electronically scanned before you make the attempt so that you have "original" photos available, in the event your de-gluing efforts destroy the photos. Good luck!

Scrap booking and stamping. Will assist with techniques and resources for the crafts of scrap-booking and rubber-stamping. I am particularly interested in assisting people who are using stamping and scrapping to create family histories, journals and genealogies. I have been scrap-booking for 20-plus years, and have more recently become involved with rubber stamping. My particular interest is in using these crafts to develop family histories and journals, although I am also able to offer advice and direction to people using stamping and scrapping techniques for greeting cards, fabric and wall stamping, and other craft projects.
