Question
Help!!!
I am new to candle making and am wondering why my candles have hardly any scent at all.  I am using Astor one pour container wax and put the scent in last right before pouring. I don't know if the fragrance oils are cheap or it is the wax the wicks or what... Please give me some advice!!
Thanks

Answer
I'm so sorry that I've taken so long to get back to you.  I have two computerss and both mice went out on the same day!  And I live out in the country.

Anyway, the variation in candle scent quality is nearly infinite.  Scent from go from worthless and disgusting to heavenly and powerful.  I've found that most candles only need a few drops of scent, if the scent is good.

They've sold candlemaking supplies for 50 years and might have a better answer to your question.

candlemaking expert. Through the 1960s and 1970s, my family had the premier handcrafted candle making company in the country. My mother was one of the founders of the International Guild of Candle Artisans and my oldest brother wrote "Contemporary Candlemaking" and "The Complete Book of Candlemaking" for Doubleday. During the 1980s, I ran the candlemaking company and taught hundreds of people to make candles. Now, I enjoy answering questions about candlemaking and bringing new candlemaking ideas to people.
