Question I'm seeking craft ideas for an article that I'm working on for the Paducah Parenting & Family magazine. I need easy craft projects for children that can be given as gifts. The projects need to be made from things that can be found around the home, and or bought in craft supply stores. I prefer most of the craft projects to be from things found around the home if possible. Please include materials needed, and instructions for making the craft. If you have a picture of any or all of the craft projects that would be very helpful as well. If you do have pictures mention this and I'll get back with you to give you the e-mail address to send them to.
The article has a short deadline so I need the craft projects to be sent to me on or before Friday, October 14, 2005. Your time and assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Answer Hi, Misti,
The books that I write are filled with art projects, but not crafts per se. However, any art activity can result in someting nice enough to give as a gift when framed and matted (if a painting, print, drawing or collage), or mounted (if a sculpture or conntruction). Little paintings and prints can be made into note cards and fabric crayons can be applied to pillow cases or T-shirts. However, I think the activities in my books are not specific enough crafts to help you with your magazine article. If you have time, you can look through my free sample art ideas on my website at http://www.brightring.com ... click on "free activities". Maybe something will ring a bell for you. Other than that, I suggest you cruise the internet and see what you can find that can be rewritten or re-adjusted to be more your own take without really copying.
Write me at my private email address below if you have more questions.
Best of luck,
MaryAnn
