Actually, the answer is controversial.  The Sculpey is recommended not to be used for eating (or with anything that comes in contact with food) because if is porous and can be a haven for bacteria.  The cured clay is apparently free of any dangerous chemicals. I am currently debating using Sculpey in my own aquarium.

I would love to know how it works out.

I am looking at using it in my tanks.

Being made out of PVC and a lot of the plumbing for my tanks is PVC it should be safe.

I  just hate to stick in my breeding tank and find out if it is toxic the hard way

Polymer clay is no longer toxic after baking. After it has been baked, it is more like a "plastic" and is perfectly safe.

(I worked with polymer clay for 5 years)

I have heard of people's fish dying after adding polymer clay items.

Polymer clay can leach chemicals even after it has cured -- I would not suggest putting it in with fish, as they are very sensitive to chemicals as it is. Not worth the risk if you care about your fish.
