Crafts/milk bottle tops and tiles

Question
I need ideas for plastic milk bottle tops and for large leftover bathroom tiles.  I don't want to make hot pads with the tiles.  Any ideas that you have will be helpful.  Thank you. Shirley

Answer
Well, I don't know what age group you are working woth, but I will try to come up with a few ideas. Sorry it couldn't be more. Although I must admit, my children are very young (plus I taught pre-schoolers) so I have not tried these types of meaterials personally.

Milk Bottle tops:

Punch a whole in the middle, paint, and string into necklaces.

Also there is a game with milk bottle caps:

TABLE TOP HOCKEY

To Play one-on-one you need:

Two Aerosol spray cans tops (paddles)
The top from a milk jugs, bottle cap, or a checker (puck)
Sit across from your opponent at your table. Shoot the puck across the table and block the puck with your paddles.
If the puck gets past opponents- you score.

Ceramic tiles:

Broken tile pictures.  Put the tiles into a cloth and break up with a hammer. They can set the broken tiles into a pattern on a piece of plywood with a layer of grout on it. Go back afterwords and fill in the gaps with more grout. You can make the plywood any size you like. String a wire hanger on the back and you have a picture to hang on the wall.

You could also always paint a design on them with tile paints and make a wall hanging that way too.

Please let me know if I can be of any other help.

As a former pre-school teacher and a mother of two small boys, I can give ideas for craft activities for children. What I don`t know, I`ll be glad to research, as I have accumulated quite a list of links to places with lots of ideas.
