Question
Hello,, and thank you for giving me the chance to learn from you.  I am an artist of sorts drawing and carving,, and i have decided that i would like to  make some of my carvings into pendants and jewelry.   I was wondering 1  can I use a soldering torch to melt my pewter? 2 I have read that some molds were made from soap stone,,, could plaster be used instead? Thanks again,  and any other info you can give would be greatly appreciated

Answer
Dear Bryan,

1. Yes you can.( assuming you are talking about a gas soldering tourch and not an electricat one. ).
2.Yes you can use plaster. You have to make sure it is very dry however.I suggest painting a layer of plaster on the piece(s) first to give them a smoother surface.

Kind Greetings
