Question
Hi!
My 11 year old daughter is enthralled with polymer clay! She has developed some of her own project ideas with photos, etc., but is becomming discouraged.
I can't seem to get it fired right... it is ALWAYS brittle and breaks- no matter the thickness or length of time fired. I need help:-)
Maybe I am "cooking" it TOO long? Or? We have tried conditioning the heck out of it, but maybe not enough? Her art is all ruined:-(
HELP!!!

PS- The clay we are using is FIMO Soft, and Sculpy

| Comment | Nanatta- Thank you so much! I will try all of your suggustions one by one, and will buy your book as soon as I find it! The clay btw, came from Michaels craft store. My daughter Kiki, says to tell you, "Thank you SO much! I SO admire you!". She thinks she may have perhaps seen you on DIY or ? We will let you know the outcome. Maybe now we will be able to keep those masterpieces in one piece! I am a "hot" glass artist btw- working in borosilicate, pendants, marbles, vases, purfume bottles, sculpture, and also have designed & made jewelry for years. Thanks again! Tammy | ||
