Question
I have heard that wall paper is acid free and can be used in scrapbooking. Do you know if this is true?

Answer
Leslie:

I would not use wallpaper in my books. Some paper MAY be acid free (but there's no way to actually tell the difference, short of lab testing) and you could even treat the papers with Archival Mist, BUT they may still contain lignin which will eventually breakdown and become acidic. And although I don't know about any paste that may be on the back, the whole idea makes me nervous!

I totally understand the desire to use the paper, because there are so many beautiful wallpapers. Instead of using the actual sample, how about using a color copier to make a "KNOWN" acid-free paper for your book!?

Good luck!

Sheila K
