Question
i have recently sold my pick up and 4 wheeler to my brother to help get money together to file and catch up household bills.  my question is how long do they need to be titled in his name before i can safely file bankruptcy?  both were paid off with no leans.

Answer
Stacey,

Ideally if you sold them they would need to be properly titled in the new owners name.  This would help them to have the proper vehicle documentation for tags and insurance.

Aside from that, unless you can show that you are no longer the legal owner of these items, they could be counted as assets for you.  So will definitely want to do the change in title.
