Creditors and Bankruptcy/judgement question

Question
Hi, I have already asked the following once. I haven't seen an answer on my e-mail or on your previous answer list. I am divorced and a judgement was filed against me an my ex due to her turning in her car without me knowing it. I was in the process of getting the separation and my lawyer advised me to have her refinance the car to remove me from the loan. We never got to that point because she turned it in during this process. I have completed my exemption forms which means everything I own is exempt. I have no savings, real estate etc. Can they get my tax refund? Is there anything I can do to get myself out of a mess she caused? Thank you!

Answer
It is possible for a creditor to attach a tax refund once they have a judgment. And the best option you have is to negotiate a settlement or payment plan with the creditor before it gets to that point. Once a vehicle is turned in your options are limited. Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and move on.

Sorry so grimm but it is what it is.
