Creditors and Bankruptcy - To file bankruptcy or not to file.

Question
I have 22,000 in debt on credit cards.  Should I file bankruptcy?  I already am on the hardship program w/ 3 of them & cannot keep up w/ the payments.  I am going through a divorce.  I have no car payments.  I am a full time student receiving student loans from the government.  I also work part time for 9.00/hr w/ no benefits.  I will be moving in w/ my mom so good credit won't be an issue w/ me getting  my own place.  I am concerned w/ the effect that future employers will be swayed if they do a credit check on me.  Also, since I have no collateral, no house, just debt, can I file on my own relatively safely.  I thought filing for divorce would be complicated & I am very proud that I negotiated that just fine.  The reason there is so much debt is that while married, the man in charge of the finances (husband) just ran up the credit cards while waiting on the inheritance.  Now that I am divorcing, I have only credit cards in my name, all maxed out, & no inheritance.  Can you help?
