Creditors and Bankruptcy - Should I file for bankruptcy after recieving a summons?

Expert: Ontrack Financial Group llc - 6/12/2009

Question
QUESTION: I am a SAHM of 4, husband is in the military. I just received a summons to court from a medical bill that was thanks to a car accident in 2001. It was a horrible accident and the semi truck left the scene...so I had nothing!

There is no way we can pay that amount...should I just file or is there a better answer?

Thanks in advance!

ANSWER: Dear Emily,

Thank you for your question.

What state are you in?  You don't have to file, there are plenty of ways to resolve this issue.
