Crime & Law Enforcement Issues & Death Penalty - Marion Jones

Expert: William A Saunders - 1/12/2008

Question
Dose Marion Jones qualify for time off for good behavior?

Answer
The concept of getting time off for good behavior pertains to her behavior while incarcerated, not before.  So, she would need to begin to serve her time first.  Getting the time off is not automatic. But if she maintained goood behavior and consistently showed remorse, she could get part of her sentence reduced.  But no guarantee.

Many people with good behavior do get out early.  But also, many people with good behavior serve their full sentence.
