Experience I have a BA in Psychology and 6.5 years expirance working with at risk youth. Many went on to criminal careers regardless of good peoples efforts. In my expirance people are criminals or they are not. On average over 100 crimes are committed by each offender before they are caught.
There are few true first offenders only first caughts.

Question Hello...We just found out that my 32 yr old stepdaughter has been writing herself cash advances over the years from her employer. Unfortunately, the family has known the Employer for 30+ yrs.
She wrote herself cash advance checks which they estimated to be around 200,000.00 over the past few years. The Police had her come down to talk with her today. We have no experience with the laws and crimes, etc. I know this is a felony however to what degree is it? We live in Ohio and aren't familar with the punishment for this type of crime.
This is needless to say, shocking for us as her family because she has never been in any trouble what so ever and to do something this terrible is unbelievable to us.

Answer Untill there are exact charges filed you really can't estimate the potential sentence.
There are many different ways this could be charged.
She likily looking years in prison time.
She needs to hire a laywer who can make a plea deal.
Crimes like this have almost 100% conviction rate.
There is a paper trail back to her.
