Question
Is it a crime in the United States to have pornographic images of children that were taken in the 1970ís and 80ís? Is it correct that it is illegal to have pornographic images of children that were taken in 1990 and later?

Answer
It is NOT LEGAL to have pornographic pictures of children no matter when the pictures were taken or where. If you have such images on your computer, or even "ghost images (images you "erased," but their images remain on your hard drive), that is construed as a felony in the United States and most other "civilized" countries around the world.
