Question
What are the law(s) on the admissibility of gruesome photographs of the bodies of murder victims at the murder trial? Do you believe attorneys should be allowed to display gruesome photographs or 3-D reconstruction to the jury in any type of trail?

Answer
Rudy,

The gruesomeness of an image will not play a roll on whether an image is used as evidence, what does are;
The source: Can it be verified the images have not been doctored? Were the images from a Crime Scene Investigator or a witness?
The displaying of evidence in a trial is up to the judge. It is less likely that a 3D rendition may be scrutinized more as they are renditions and portray view points rather than facts. Images that come from solid unbiased sources will be allowed, again depending on the source and the verification of the images validity.
I hope this helps.
Thanks,
Lou
