Question
Is it a crime under US law for a US citizen to report information from the United States to MI5 of the United Kingdom?  https://www.mi5.gov.uk/home/constant-nav-items-holding/contact-us/report-a-suspected-threat-to-national-security.html
Reason is the United Kingdom an allies of the United States. Does that make a difference yes or no.

Answer
To our knowledge, it is not a 'crime' for any US citizen to report a crime to MI5 in the United Kingdom. However, in saying so, we are assuming that the criminal activity being reported is occurring in the UK and not in the Untied States.

Specifically, the reporter may have an issue if they had knowledge of a crime about to occur in the U.S. and they failed to timely report it to an appropriate US agency and that failure led to the injury/death of a U.S citizen.
