Crime & Law Enforcement Issues & Death Penalty/Military Jobn

Question
I am joining the military and one day hope to be a police officer. I was wondering if being a military police officer would better my chances in the hiring process as opposed to choosing another job like a paratrooper or intelligence?

Answer
Being in the military police wouldn't hurt but wouldn't necessarily help either. In most cases the Military Police is viewed by most police departments as a step above  private security in civilian life. Besides it could be boring standing at a security post on a military base for long hours....and you will do a lot of that.

I would suggest "intelligence". That background would give you a lot more credibility then the military police...in addition it would open a lot more doors for you in addition to the police such as...FBI or some other federal law enforcement job if you decided to chose a different career path. Good luck in whatever you choose.
