Question
Dear Sir,
Iam doing a paper on Prisoner Rehabilitation where I need to ask an expert on the subject and thought this would be fitting. Can you tell me your personal thoughts on what works when rehabilitating Offenders?  If this isn't your expertise than I understand and thank you for your time. All I need is a Quote.

Most prisoners are NOT rehabable.  Thier criminality
normally starts as a teens and continues till they are too old to offend. These are career criminals. They are self centered and could careless about anyone else. Offers of rehab is likily to used to play the system
and get an early release. For those who were career criminals and change, normally a religious conversion is involved. There are exceptions like Merl Haggard who realized his being a thief was killing his chance at a music career.

For those who truely make a mistake and regret it,
they unlikily re-offend with or without rehab.
These people understand right from wrong.

When rehab was the main goal if reformed prisons
from the 1960s to 1980s crime skyrocketed.
Now many states are focused on punishment and sentences got far longer. Crime went down.

I have a BA in Psychology and 6.5 years expirance working with at risk youth. Many went on to criminal careers regardless of good peoples efforts. In my expirance people are criminals or they are not. On average over 100 crimes are committed by each offender before they are caught. There are few true first offenders only first caughts.
