Question
Ok he has been in jail 3 weeks today, has been to court for the SC charges, and is now waiting for extradition to NC. One day they say he will be extradited, next day he won't, and so on. He has asked for legal counsel 3 times, has not received it yet and supposedly NC has until next Thursday to get him unless they are just lying to him. So do you know how long they can legally keep him in jail in SC??? The fraud is supposedly $1700.00, I don't know if it crossed state lines but am assuming it probably did, and he did do this while on probation and then left the state. Thanks for your help....

As an anxious mother about to have a nervous breakdown, i am wondering if you can give me an idea about my son. He was on probation and supposedly committed fraud by selling items on ebay and getting the money and not delivering the goods.Then he left the state and is now in jail in SC awaiting extradition to NC. What could his possible sentence be for this??? He was on probation for traffic violations.

I am sorry for your burden.
At this point it is hard to even ballpark it untill he is charged in North Carolina.
The fraud charges depends on the value of the fraud.
Also how many counts of fraud, (number of victims)
He could also face violation of probation charges, and unlawfull flight from justice.
If the fraud crossed state lines there could even federal charges.  I suggest you hire a local criminal law attorney for him. He potentionally in a lot of trouble.
I am sorry I can't give you a better answer.

NC doesn't have provide council at this point unless he says he will fight extridition. (prove he is not who they say he is, which is pointless)  SC may not want to spend the money to get him returned.
In terms of the SC legal problem I can not estimate
it untill you know the exact charges.
Each charge will have a title and code number.
I need those to look up the sentencing range.
I would need to know how many counts of each charge.
I could be 1 count for $1700 or 17 $100 crimes.
