Question
If someone breaks a window to gain access to the inside of your vehicle and steals your stereo. Is there a statue of limations say one year or five years they can still be arrested, or is there no length of time and they can still be arrested in the state of Wyoming? The stereo was under $300 but I believe the police had fingerprints.

Answer
Tim,

State of limitations vary with each state.  Misdemeanors are usually 1 year and felonies are 5-7 years.  States define what constitutes a felony by various variables, amount of damage, value of item stolen, if force was needed to make entry ( broken window) etc.  Some states even have varying degrees of felonies. Wyoming is not a state that i am at all familiar with.  Do a computer search on Wyoming criminal laws.  All states are available on line.   In Michigan Breaking and entering a vehicle is a felony.

Good Luck
