Criminal Law/Boyfriend, probation.. a real big mess.

Question
My boyfriend was put on probation last year for a misdemeanor assault on a female.  She requested that he take domestic violence classes, and then turned around and wouldn't let him use any of his money to do so-- thus, violating his probation.  Since then, she had went as far as to turn the electricity off at our household, along with other harrassing measures, thus forcing us to move.  We were in North Carolina, and are now in West Virginia.

His most recent court date was just a couple of days ago, and though his probation officer and lawyer suggested it be dropped, the judge ruled that he had to complete the classes, and he had to stay in the demanding state and county, and that he had to obtain a permanent residence and full-time job..  It was that, or go serve 60 days jail time.  His lawyer had also required him to bring a paycheck stub from where he had gotten a job, a letter from where he had actually signed up for a domestic violence course up here in WV, and a letter from his ill mother stating that we had moved in with her to help her take care of herself and her home.  The judge took none of this into consideration, and after the hearing the probation officer had the gall to tell us that we could stay in a homeless shelter for the sixth month period it will take for the domestic violence classes to be completed.

My question is this:  Considering we do not have the funds to move back to NC, cannot find jobs in the county he's supposed to stay in, nor anywhere cheap enough to rent.. he's wanting to just stay here in WV.  I've been looking through things about extradition to see what the likelihood of that happening if we were to be stopped by an officer.  Would it be likely that a misdemeanor warrant be extradited back to NC from WV?

Thank you for your time;  any advice whatsoever will be appreciated greatly.
-Rhi.

Answer
Rhi,

A bench warrant will be issued for probation violation in your boyfriend's name and will be accessible by law enforcement across the nation.  NC probably will not spend the time and money to track your boyfriend down.  Just understand that if and when he is caught there most likely will be a fugitive hold order with the warrant asking local law enforcement to take your bf into custody and hold him until pick up arrangements are made.  In short, he will be "on the lam."

Best of luck.
