Question
I was in the state of MA. when i was 17 years old. I was at the time just
traveling through and i do not remember the name of the city I was in.
Anyhow it is almost 9 years later and i just found out I still have a old warrant
from that time. I did not go to court because at that time i was still a miner in
the state of WA. where i lived with my mother. She would not let me travel
back to MA. In MA. 17 is an adult. My Mama wrote the courts explaining the
situation and that she would not let me travel back there. I thought
everything was done and over with until just a few weeks ago when i flew
back from Africa i was told I have a warrant in Ma. I really want to take care
of this asap and don't know who to contact or call or what to do. If you can
guide my feet in the write direction i would really appreciate it. I am 4
months pregnant and living in CA. and just want this thing not to be over my
head from so long ago. Thanks again so much for any guidance in my

You need to reach through the years and try to recall the circumstances of the warrant. Ask your mother if she has copies of the letters she wrote. As it seems that you can't remember too many details probably the best thing to do is to hire a criminal defense attorney to find out the circumstances of your arrest warrant and petition the Court in that jurisdiction to void the charge and clear your name from the active bench warrant list. He or she should be able to negotiate on your behalf with the city authorities and/or D.A.'s office.
You could also write to the state office of public safety and state your position and ask that your name be removed from the list. Hopefully they can contact you and help you perform this task. You might have to pay a fine or something but it will be worth it in the end.
