Criminal Law/Personal Protection Orders in Michigan

Question
The law in michigan regarding Personal Protection Orders in Michigan are horrible. My wife got one on my first by lying and the judge issued an exparte with no evidence. But the horrible part of the law is that my wife can contact me as much as she wants ( And has many many times begging for money among other things)and I can not turn her in.She is not held to the same standard I am.I can't even respond (politly)to an inflamatory email she sends me or I go to jail(and I did) I feel any resonable lawmaker would make the PPO cut both ways. She should not be able to contact me.
ANd don't say "If she does you can et the PPO off her" I tried it didn't work.My wife is to good of a lier.I have witnesses, cashed checks ( I know I'm a sucker ) it doesn't matter.THe law simply should cut both ways so the woman does not just get jppo's to taunt a man.If she knew she would get in trouble for contacting the man most women would not get them??????????

Answer
Paul,

Not sure if there was a question in there or not.  I can't say that i disagree with you.  A lot of laws are written with out thinking about the repercussions or how to enforce.  PPO are a necessary evil.  They can be contested and you are correct mutual PPO's are not normally permitted.  I would probably support a amendment that makes it a violation for either party to violate a PPO.

Good luck
