Please do not ask me about potential jail sentences that you, your friends, or family might receive in court. There is no way for me to know that. Only a judge could answer a question like that. I am also NOT a probation officer or parole officer so I cannot answer questions that relate to parole or probation. Also please keep in mind that every state has different laws. Worked in the patrol division as well as over 14 years in the detective bureau. I taught at the police academy for several years and am especially knowledgeable about search and seizure. Any question about criminal law is welcome! I am very knowledgeable about search and seizure and taught at the police academy for several years on a variety of subjects. Criminal Law - suspended sentence

Question
Our loved one was sentenced and was give a suspended sentence with probation. Only they did not relese him. They moved him to detention center in monroe la. this eas after he served 6 months.
awaiting his release that night We found that he had been moved. We have contacted the public defender and prosecuting atty. We cannot get a return call from ethier. What does one do in this situation. Thank you for you attention in this matter

Answer
It sounds like that even though he received a suspended sentence on whatever charge he was in court for that he was also wanted in another jurisdiction on another charge. Surely the state of Louisiana must have an inmate locater system that you could access. If that does not work what about simply driving to the jail where he was last incarcerated and asking where he was moved to?
