Question Mr.Paisola I'm the mother of a 27 year old who has never been in any legal trouble ever until last year. let me start by giving you the history or as much as I think is relevant to the case. My daughter has worked for 3 cash advance stores she was employed at the first beginning as a customer service rep then as assistant mngr.she worked there for about a year with no complaints by either customers or employer the second store she was hired in as an assistant mngr. again no complaints by either customers or employer after about six months she applied for the third store as store mngr. and was hired when she gave notice to the second store they offered a raise as they didn't want to lose her as she was such a good employee but she opted for the third store and the opportunity to be store mngr. When she started it was a new store and she was the sole employee but she quickly built the customer base and created a need for an assistant she interviewed and hired a girl that worked for about two months and quit without notice approx. 1 week before the end of the month being that the majority of cash advance customers are government payees her boss informed her to find someone immediately she told him that was short notice to find someone he then inquired about a friend of hers who had expressed interest previously in working there but was turned down because they were friends my daughter called her and she was still interested and my daughters boss told her to hire her so they could get her trained for the first of the month rush.At first there was no problems then my daughters immediate boss did a weekly in store held check audit and found no problems then a few days later the regional mngr. came in on my daughters day off and did another audit of the store at which time my daughters friend quit and my daughter was called to come in when she arrived she was informed that they had found problems with some of the advances with the other girls signature on them so they had confronted her with them and she quit my daughter was then instructed to make arrangements to have the locks on the doors changed. Later that day a detective came in and told my daughter she needed to come in to the police station for an interview she then asked if they could do it there as she would have to close the store she was told it would have to be at the station she at some point did call her friend to discuss the events of the day was informed that she too was ask to come to the station for an interview my daughter asked if she did any of what she was accused of and she replied that she hadn't.When my daughter arrived at the station her friend was being interviewed and she was asked to wait when she was called in the detective ask if she had any knowledge of what had been going on and she told him no he then told her that he found it hard to believe that and told her he thought that they were in on it together since they were friends my daughter told him she had nothing to do with it and if the other girl had done anything like that she was not aware of it he then told my daughter that since she didn't know anything about it that he would charge her also she was asked to take a polygraph test which she agreed to at the time and was told it would be scheduled when my daughter returned to work her employer told her she was fired because the detective felt that she either participated or aided in the thefts. (The next day the wife of the investigating detective had my daughters job) My daughter went to see an attorney who told her NOT to take the polygraph and upon his advise she declined a week later she was indicted on several charges of theft by deception theft of identity and a misdemeanor charge of theft under 300. After retaining this attorney she found he is fairly good friends with the detective in the case (conflict of interest?)I feel that the polygraph test would have prevented these charges do you think it would help her to take it now either police administered or privately?and do you have any other suggestions that might be of help? I understand it just your opinion and not legal advise but my daughter is losing everything she worked so hard for she's a single mother with no help except her father and myself and she can't get a job cause everyone's afraid to hire her because her background check shows these pending charges Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to offer

Correct me if I am wrong, but did you say that the WIFE OF THE INVESTIGATING DETECTIVE NOW HAS HER JOB?
If that is true, then this is a MUCH BIGGER issue than simply an alleged fraud and theft. This is absolutely incredible that a detective would investigate an incident and then casually have his wife go to the place of the crime and WORK!
