Criminal Law/statue of limitations

Question
Is there a statue of limitations on the prosecution of bad checks, forgery, theft. My husband cashed a check that was from one of those scams and it has been over 2 years since the preliminary hearing at the district justices office and we just wondered if there was a statue of limitations on something like that.

Answer
Cheryl,

There is a statute of limitations for pretty much everything.  Each state is different.  2 years seems quite awhile for something as uncomplicated as what you describe.  Best advise is to call the court, prosecutor or the police agency and ask what the status is.

Sorry i can't be more specific

good luck
