Question
QUESTION: My husband has been in prison for almost 6 yrs. He has been told within the prison staff including by the warden that there is to be a very large release of inmates, by recommendation of the warden. My question is can you tell me where to find out any information on this release. More specific when this release will begin.

ANSWER: Gale,

I hope things work out however you didn't provide any information as to what state etc this is going to be occurring in.  Releases are not just based on numbers but the inmates security classification.  Your best information will come from with the Department of Correction, the specific prison and your local media.

Good luck, sorry i wasn't able to help

QUESTION: Robin,

The prison is Agusta State Medical in Agusta GA. I did pull up the Dept. of corrections for that prison but at this point nothing has been posted, that I have found. As far as the local Media I can't seem to find anything about Agusta where I am located. I am about 300 miles from the prison in question. If you can't find anything then I will just leave this matter in our Percious Lord hands, I know when he is ready my husband will come home to me. I was just hoping to find a time line.

Thank you for your time and may God bless you and your cause

Answer
Gale,

I am aware of several states having overcrowding and financial issues causing them to expedite some releases of inmates.  My review of information indicates that Georgia like others is looking at this as possibility.  I don't find anything specific for Agusta.  These decisions are based deep inside the bureaucracy of the corrections departments and i like i mentioned earlier any release is based on severity of crime, amount of time already served and potential for successful parole.

Good luck
