Question
If I added a pickup truck to my insurance  (I am a 60 yr. old man) in order to let my neighbor put it on the road, would I be violating any Florida statutes?  He is a 20 yr. old with very high insurance rates.

Answer
Donald,

Very generous of you.  You are probably not violating any criminal or motor vehicle statute.  You will have an issue with your insurance company.  You need to read your policy carefully because without him being listed as driver on the vehicle there may be a problem with coverage. This is an insurance law question not  criminal.  Most insurance companies require them to be notified of all usual and customary drivers so that there records can be checked and rates adjusted accordingly.  You could also be opening yourself up to civil liability.  As i said not criminal but not necessarily a real good move liability wise.

Hope this helped
