Question
I was recently given a ticket for possession of marijuana in California. On the ticket is a date to appear in court and I was wondering if I am still going to receive a letter in the mail? I called the court and got mixed answers about this.

Normally the ticket is all the notice you will get. The appearance date is not necessarily written in stone. you can always contact the court and try and get a different date. This is just a first appearance or a date that you have to contact the court. These things can be extended if necessary
