Question
I was placed on deferred adjudication for possession of a stolen fire arm in Texas. it has been well over ten years since it happen. served in the military for some time and now i want to buy a gun to go hunting is this going to hinder me?

Answer
Wes,

Deferred ajudication means that if one completes the time period specified by the court then the case is dismissed ( normally).  So if your information is correct there should be no record to hinder your obtaining a firearm.  However,  since we are talking government here and especially the criminal justice system it would be prudent to check.  Go online and check for the state of Texas how to obtain a copy of your criminal history.  Might as well check FBI also.  Then you will know what is being reported and you can proceed from there.

Good luck
