Answer
TJ,

I am truly sorry about your friend and the worries that this is causing you and her family and friends.  You ask if it is possible, absolutely. However what you probably mean is " is it probable"  That one no one on a forum like this can answer.  There are just to many variables.  The final decisions are made by the prosecutor and the court.  There is also the possibility that the current victim can back out unexpectedly.  Even his gong to jail may not be enough.  She could still stay in contact with him in jail, wait for him to be released as he will then be a " changed man".  You and i both know that probably is not going to happen.  Your friend needs to get away from him and needs counseling to do that.  Unless she does so willingly there is little chance of it working. After all these years I can't say i understand why these women do this i just accept the fact that they do.

Good luck
