Question
what's a fugitive warrant? and how much time can you get for one in the state of new Jersey? Also if you had a good excuse in why you left can it get you a reduced sentence?

A fugitive warrant is a warrant that charges that someone either did not show up in court or is believed to have fled the state.  There is no real charge.  It is just a warrant to take the suspect into custody.  I can't comment on giving good excuses because that would be considered giving you legal advice and I cannot do that.

But you have to understand this.  Someone who is a fugitive could be arrested after a simple traffic stop, if an officer ran a check on his tags, or had some other minor encounter with the police.  That would send him to jail until his trial.

I am very knowledgeable about search and seizure and taught at the police academy for several years on a variety of subjects. I can answer questions that a lot of attorneys cannot since they do not have "street experience".
