Question
My husband I were in the Philadelphia area (we are residents of Florida) renting an apartment s o he could visit his siblings (he died of pancreatic cancer on May 4, 2009.
While I was out of the apartment, his childrent (my stepchildren) went into the apartment and took out EVERYTHING. My husband filed bankruptcy last year and everything they took belonged to MY MOTHER who lived with us.
I am filing a private complaint but i need to quote the statute referring to stolen property. Can you get me that statute number please. Thanks so much! Diane

Answer
Diane Frankowski,

This quesiton ended up in the question pool so i did not receive it until today, I apologize for the delay.
First my deepest condolences and sympathies over the loss of your husband.

Each state has varying statutes and definitions.  In Pennsylvania the general statute for theft is 18 PA C.S 3921.  This should cover some of what you are asking.  You may also want to consider filing a police report.  Admitedly it is quite awhile after the fact but they may be helpfull in recovering some of what you loss.

Hope this helps and good luck
