Question
A while back i got hired by lowes foods in north Carolina as a cashier. About three months later i stole $200 from the cash register. I got convicted of misdemeanor larceny. Later that year while i was in highschool i brought a hunting knife to school because some friends and i were going to go hunting later that day. But someone went to the principle saying that i had a knife at school, and i was charged with concealed weapon on school grounds. Now it has been about three years since that happen and i just wanted to know if i would be able to get my record expunge.

Answer
Shane,

Does not look good for you in North Carolina.  Here is web link that you can review. It is some very general information and with the same disclaimer i will give you.  Contact an attorney for more detailed information.

Looks like you get one bite at the apple in North Carolina.  With two on your record this could be a disqualifier.  It is important especialy when people are young to work with their attorney to try and get their first conviction deferred so there is no record and you can avoid expungement.

Which reminds me.  Contact your state government office and get a copy of your criminal history.  Maybe one of those early charges was deferred or you were given a special sentencing category and they may not be on your record, expecially if you were a juvenile.

Hope this helps
