Criminal Law/question 1

Question
My husband and I are separated, and all of the vehicles are in his name.  Can he report the vehicle stolen if I am still driving it?

Answer
Cindy,

Probably not.  In most states once married all property is joint.  Make sure you have the appropriate registrations and insurance.  If you husband is so stupid as to report them stolen he may be getting himself in trouble for filing a false report.  If he is going to go this route you will want to contact counsel and get things moving.

Hope this helps
