Criminal Law/Assault

Question
My neighbor assaulted me and was convicted. My apartment manager will not evict him even though it says they will in the leasing contract (Crime Free Addendum). They say that I can move into another apartment but that I have to pay a bunch of money to do it. They told me that no other apartments are available anyway. My question is: If the contract says that they will evict someone for a crime, can I break my lease if they don't, so that I can protect myself from being assaulted again?

Answer
Nicole,

I wont be much help on this question as it is a civil issue ( contract, landlord-tenant) and not criminal.  My advise would be to schedule some time with a local attorney to discuss the issue.  Take along your copy of the lease agreement.

Sorry i can't be more help
